Sachin Popli: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

Objectives inspire. Key Results prove it.

Sachin Popli breaks down Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) as a goal-setting framework built on two distinct parts: the Objective, which is a qualitative, clear, and inspirational description of what you want to achieve, and the Key Results, which are quantitative measures — ideally two to five per goal — that evaluate progress toward that objective.

The session emphasizes that great OKRs focus on value-based outcomes rather than activity-based tasks. Done well, they give teams the focus, alignment, and tracking needed to stretch their potential within an Agile workflow, rather than simply becoming another list of things to check off.

What You'll Learn

  • The difference between a qualitative Objective and quantitative Key Results
  • Why 2–5 Key Results per goal is the sweet spot for tracking real progress
  • How to focus OKRs on value-based outcomes instead of activity-based tasks
